Pull up a seat on the couch. This is where family, faith, and Scripture come together as we grow in our love for Jesus.

Fear does not always show up as panic ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ Sometime Fear does not always show up as panic ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ
Sometimes it shows up as parenting.

It sounds like ๐Ÿ‘‡
โณ One more minute
๐Ÿงฝ Let me do it for you
๐Ÿ˜ข I cannot let you be upset
๐Ÿ“ฃ Why is this so hard for you

This week is Week 9 Memory Verse ๐Ÿ“–
Psalm 56:3 | When I am afraid, I will trust in you. ๐Ÿค

David wrote that while being hunted in enemy territory ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธโš”๏ธ even in Gath, the place tied to Goliath. Real fear. Real stakes.
And he still chose trust inside the fear ๐Ÿ™

New Cozy Conviction episode is Parenting Without Panic ๐ŸŽง
We talk about the fear costumes parents wear and the small shifts that honor real risk without letting anxiety run the house ๐Ÿก๐Ÿซถ
Plus the Skateboard Test ๐Ÿ›น to help you tell the difference between risk and hazard.

Podcast is on all platforms ๐ŸŒ
Transcript, memory verse resources, and a family Bible study to do together are in the link in bio ๐Ÿ”—

Which one shows up fastest for you lately ๐Ÿ‘€
๐Ÿš Hovering
๐Ÿšœ Rescuing
๐Ÿ”ฅ Getting sharp to regain control
๐Ÿ™ˆ Avoiding the hard thing altogether
Fear is fear. Different intensity. Same spiritual Fear is fear. Different intensity. Same spiritual question. ๐Ÿซถ
Will fear leadโ€ฆ or will God lead? ๐Ÿค

๐ŸŽง Parenting Without Panic | Psalm 56:3 (Week 9)

Week 8 memory verse: Psalm 23:1 ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒฟ My โ€œI wantโ€ is Week 8 memory verse: Psalm 23:1 ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒฟ

My โ€œI wantโ€ is not always about the thing.
Sometimes it is my nervous system asking for safety. ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿง

And when that want machine starts revving, it never asks for something holy.
It asks for control. Approval. Relief. Certainty. One more scroll. One more snack. One more something. ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿช๐Ÿงƒ

Then Psalm 23:1 walks in like a steady adult in the room and says
โ€œThe Lord is my shepherd; I have what I need.โ€ ๐Ÿงก

That line is not sentimental.
It is defiant. โš”๏ธ

Because David is not writing this from a life with no valleys.
Psalm 23 includes pressure, enemies, and dark places. So this verse is not denial. It is trust with teeth. ๐ŸŒ‘๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

So here is the family move this week
When the want machine gets loud, pause for two minutes. โณ
Ask:
โ€ข What do we actually need right now
โ€ข Who is leading us right now
Then say it out loud together
โ€œThe Lord is my shepherd; I have what I need.โ€ ๐Ÿ‘

Episode 4 of Cozy Convictions pairs with this verse
The Shepherd and the Want Machine ๐ŸŽง
And the full Week 8 Bible study plus memory tools are on the website. Link in bio. ๐Ÿ”—๐Ÿ“–

Save this for the next bedtime meltdown or Tuesday afternoon spiral. ๐Ÿ’พ๐Ÿ˜…
I used to think โ€œgood leadershipโ€ looked like conf I used to think โ€œgood leadershipโ€ looked like confidence, polish, and people who already seemed like they belonged on a stage. ๐ŸŽคโœจ

Then God drops this line in 1 Samuel 16:7 and basically says,
Stop staring at the packaging. ๐Ÿ“ฆ๐Ÿ‘€

Because humans do what humans do.
We grade what shows. ๐Ÿ“โœ…

We notice height, talent, volume, vibe, followers, โ€œwell-behaved kids,โ€ the perfect outfit, the quick answer, the impressive prayer. And we quietly assume, *That must be maturity.* ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘‘

But God is not impressed the way we are. ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ

He tells Samuel not to choose a king by appearance or stature because He has already rejected that candidate. Why? Because God is looking at the control center. The inside. The loves. The motives. The willingness to obey when nobody claps. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ™

This is comforting and confronting at the same time. ๐Ÿซถโš ๏ธ

Comforting because God is not fooled by polish. โœจ
Confronting because I canโ€™t hide behind polish either. ๐Ÿชž

So hereโ€™s a micro Bible study your whole family can do tonight. Even your three-year-old. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ“– Read the story, answer the questions, and practice one โ€œsee like Godโ€ move together this week. ๐Ÿ‘€โค๏ธ

And if youโ€™re working on memorizing 1 Samuel 16:7, I put the full study and simple memory tools on my website. ๐Ÿ”—๐Ÿง  Link in bio.

Save this for later and bring it back at dinner time. ๐Ÿ’พ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ
