- So God created man: hold your hands out like you’re shaping something gently.
- in his own image: point to your face, then point upward.
- he created him in the image of God: draw a heart in the air to show God’s loving design.
- he created them male and female: hold up two hands side by side to show different people together.
Draw two simple people side by side (stick figures are fine) with a small crown or heart above them to show they are made in God’s image. You can write “God’s image” above the picture.
Head Summary
This verse says that God made people to reflect what he is like. We are not God, but we are made in his image. Every person, no matter their age, ability, or background, has deep worth because God made them to belong to him and to show what he is like in the world.
Heart Prompt
How does it change the way you feel about yourself to know you are made in God’s image? What happens to the way we treat other people if we remember that every single person is made in God’s image too? When is it hardest for you to remember that someone else is an “image bearer” of God?
Hands Practice
This week, choose one person each day and quietly remind yourself: “They are made in God’s image.” Then do one small act of honor or kindness toward them. A kind word, extra patience, a thank-you, or a helpful action. At the end of the day, talk as a family about one moment when you remembered someone is made in God’s image.

If every person is made in God’s image, what are some ways we should and should not treat people?.

God, thank You for making us in Your image. Help our family remember that we and everyone we meet are Your image bearers. Teach us to treat each other with honor, kindness, and respect. Amen.
